Hukumnya ialah berdoa disunatkan dalam semua sujud dan tidak hanya khusus dalam sujud terakhir. Daripada Abu Hurairah, bahawa Rasulullah SAW bersabda: أقرب ما يكون العبد من ربه وهو ساجد ، فأكثروا الدعاء Maksudnya: "Keadaan yang paling dekat seseorang hamba dengan Tuhan-nya ialah ketika dia bersujud. Maka perbanyakkanlah berdoa (pada waktu sujud)."
